DUI Victim’s Panel

On February 1, 2010, in DUI Defense, by Scott W Lawrence

If you are convicted of a DUI, or related offense, you will be required to attend a DUI Victim’s Panel.  This is a two hour session where presenters give their perspective on drinking and driving.  The speakers are persons who were either victims, related to victims, or accused of DUI offenses. They share their moving stories about the ills of drinking and driving.  The idea of the victims’ panel is to allow people to get a different perspective on the risks of mixing alcohol and driving.  Of all the hoops DUI defendants are required to jump through this is the one thing that my clients report, almost unanimously, was helpful and interesting.

There are a number of agencies you can go to complete a DUI Victim’s Panel.  Most of the sessions are in the $40-$50 range.
